Another Brave DIYer!

I think it came out beautifully and I love the trim she has used. You can read more about it and see an extra picture in her thread on TBW. She includes some advice from her own experience, which is always worth reading!

Rebecca's DIY Onbag

Well done Rebecca - it looks beautiful! And so do you and your lovely baby!

Rebecca says: "I fell in love with the onbag at first sight, and went out to buy myself some fabric for it the next day. I finished it yesterday and put it to the test today, packing up lunch for the whole family and went to the park"

Michelle's DIY Onbag

Michelle, who you may know as mich1783 from The Babywearer, is the first brave mama to make her very own Onbag! Very impressive!

I think it looks fantastic with the matching sling!

Michelle has added some tweaks of her own, including elastic at the tops of the pockets (something I've done for a couple of people too) and an extra pocket on the back of the bag.

Pattern - measurements in inches

Many thanks to Renee for this:

  • 1 - 14" x 14" - front
  • 1 - 14" x 27.5" - back and flap
  • 1 - 8.5" x 138" (approx 3.75 yd) - straps, sides & bottom (don't be tempted to piece two bits together - this is where the bag gets its strength and a seam will look messy when you put it all together later on)
  • 3 - 12" x 8" - front and back pockets (one in a contrasting material if you wish)
  • 2 - 8" x 14" - side pockets
  • 2 - 12" x 4" - side loops

  • 1 - 14" x 14" - front
  • 1 - 14" x 27.5" - back and flap

Free Pattern - DIY Onbag

Please note: This pattern is intended to enable babywearers to make my bags for themselves or their friends and family, absolutely not for sale.I put a lot of time and effort into coming up with this design, which as far as I know is new, so I'll be pretty heartbroken if I find that somebody has pinched it!

I am making the design available for free because we are a small community and I think it is nice if we help each other out - please use the pattern in the same spirit.
