Michelle's DIY Onbag

Michelle, who you may know as mich1783 from The Babywearer, is the first brave mama to make her very own Onbag! Very impressive!

I think it looks fantastic with the matching sling!

Michelle has added some tweaks of her own, including elastic at the tops of the pockets (something I've done for a couple of people too) and an extra pocket on the back of the bag.

"Maya"

This is beautifully simple. Brown cotton drill outer with a natural cream fairtrade organic cotton lining. Two small fabric roses at the ends of the straps make it that little bit special.

This is for my dear friend who is moving away. I wish her all the luck in the world in her new town.

Pattern - measurements in inches

Many thanks to Renee for this:

Outer

  • 1 - 14" x 14" - front
  • 1 - 14" x 27.5" - back and flap
  • 1 - 8.5" x 138" (approx 3.75 yd) - straps, sides & bottom (don't be tempted to piece two bits together - this is where the bag gets its strength and a seam will look messy when you put it all together later on)
  • 3 - 12" x 8" - front and back pockets (one in a contrasting material if you wish)
  • 2 - 8" x 14" - side pockets
  • 2 - 12" x 4" - side loops

Lining:

  • 1 - 14" x 14" - front
  • 1 - 14" x 27.5" - back and flap
